Why Use Sketchup?
Sketchup is a great program that puts 3D design in the hands of everyone. You can start out by learning the FREE version of sketchup. What was once only possible with years of technical training, can now be learned in just a few lessons. Sketchup is great for kids too. I have taught all ages from 10 to 75. Sketchup stimulates the spacial-visual region of the brain and is great for creative types.
Sketchup allows users to transfer a visual ideainto a 3D model and eventually into reality using a 3D printer, CNC machine, or using traditional building techniques. Sketchup is a tool that has many applications. Users can create architecture, 3D architecture, gaming worlds, 3D objects, 3D prints, story boards and more.
Anything that can be imagined, can be created. Imagine drawing or doodling an idea on a piece of paper. Now imagine doodling with virtual geometric 3D shapes: cubes, cylinders, spheres, cones, domes, etc. Now you can doodle in 3D... fast. The possibilities for creation are endless.
What I can Teach You
I've been a professional designer since 1999, and a 3D modeling teacher since 2005. I have tutored hundreds of students in a range of ages and skill levels. I have taught the basics of Sketchup to children and helped architects realize their plans in 3D.
I began using Sketchup to design terrain parks for skiing and snowboarding. I created my designs in Sketchup before building them. After the design phase, many of my clients' 3D models have been built or 3D printed.
